Manifesto

How we’re working to make our sustainability vision a reality

  • Design for emotional longevity: our buildings and spaces are created to withstand the fast-moving trend cycle.

  • Work to Passivhaus standards, baking sustainability, and the prevention of societal issues such as the Housing Crisis, into everything we do.

  • Prioritise use of low-energy and natural materials, and standardise these across all projects.

  • Map our supply chains to understand where the materials we specify come from.

  • Upgrade our specification process to prioritise locally grown and manufactured products.

  • Only work with timber suppliers who guarantee their supply chain is from well-managed woodlands.

  • Track the embodied carbon of all of our works.

  • Apply a re-use first policy on all our projects.

  • Prioritise quality materials and craftsmanship.

  • Embed lifecycle studies (LCAs) in all of our schemes.

  • Ask all our contractors to have a waste management plan that reduces what goes to landfill.

  • Demystify complex sustainability jargon so clients understand the value of good design.

  • Never greenwash and always be transparent about our climate impact.

  • Engage in research to ensure we’re using the most innovative methods possible.

  • Report our progress each year.
