This project will be a zero-carbon, sustainable self-build exemplar, demonstrating how simple low cost construction can be used to create exceptional and unique spaces that do not have a negative impact on the environment and enhance the character of the local area.

The proposal embodies Garden City Principles by: using the latest construction techniques to create high-quality modern homes that are easy to replicate; creating an open and spacious home; maintaining a sense of space and openness around it; celebrating nature; being collaboratively realized; and being affordable.

The property is situated on a residential street comprised of two storey houses. Built by developer Laing, the estate was built on garden city principles, and now comprises the Shrewsbury Park Estate Conservation Area. The property is not listed.
